Ben-Haim produziert reiche Strukturen und faszinierende Farben. Er
benutzt Material von der industriellen Welt um biomorphische Formen zu
kreieren. Sein Lieblingsbild der Naturwelt ist das Blatt, welches die Natur
als verbindendes Element zwischen Erdbewohnern symbolisiert. Manchmal
ist das Blatt klar erkennbar und manchmal kaum sichtbar.

Zigi Ben Haim, *1945 in Baghdad, Iraq, raised in Israel, lives and works in Israel and New York. He has won many high profile international prizes and scholarships, and his work has been shown in important exhibitions and art fairs in the US, Israel, Sweden, Germany, France, the UK, Switzerland, Spain and Korea.

Zigi is a consummate artist by heart and soul. He produces rich colors and intriguing structures, using materials from the industrial world to create biomorphic forms. His favorite symbol of the world of nature is the leaf as the unifying element between the planet earth and its inhabitants. There is a leaf in most of Zigi’s works – sometimes clearly, and sometimes only barely visible.

Ben Haim’s art makes clear references to classic aesthetics in terms of materials, composition and gesture. The American-Israeli artist enables the connection between Big and Small, Special and General. His talent places him in a position to inspire, but also to criticize, in a positive sense. It is his philosophy in life to build bridges of understanding between art, cultures and people.
